해외동영상공유사이트에 한 여성이 벌거벗겨진 채로 돌팔매질을 당해 살해되는 영상이 올라와 논란이 되고 있다. 영상은 아프리카에서 촬영되었는데, 여성은 벌거벗은 채로 돌팔매질을 당한다. 여성은 수많은 남성에게 둘러싸여 주먹만 한 돌부터 사람 머리보다도 큰 돌을 맞으며 쓰러진다. 이때 한 남자는 여성위에 나뭇가지를 던지고, 여성의 몸은 인화성 물질에 젖어 있는지 불길이 솟아오른다. 불을 간신히 끄는 데 성공하지만 커다란 돌에 맞고 사망하고 만다. 이 영상을 올린 이는 촬영장소는 불분명하지만, 영상의 제목이 스와힐리어로 ‘인간애는 어디에?’였다는 설명을 더했다. 더욱 놀라운 것은 이런 잔혹한 영상에 달린 수많은 댓글 중 상당수가 아프리카 사람들을 ‘야만인,’ ‘짐승’으로 비하하고, 유럽의 난민사태에 빗대어 아프리카 출신 사람들을 서구사회에 받아들이는 것을 비판하고 있다는 것.
