이집트 룩소르서 3천년 전 목관 30개 새로 발견
이집트 고대유물부는 19일(현지시간) 이집트 남부의 유적도시 룩소르에서 고대 목관 30개를 새로 발견했다고 발표했다.이 목관들은 룩소르의 나일강 서안에 위치한 아사시프에서 발굴됐으며 정교한 조각과 다양한 색채가 고스란히 남아있다.고대유물부는 목관들이 기원전 10세기 이집트 고대 제22왕조에서 만들어진 것으로 추정하고 남녀 사제와 어린이들의 관이라고 설명했다.발굴된 목관들은 앞으로 복원 작업을 거쳐 이집트 기자지역에서 새로 건설 중인 '대박물관'으로 옮겨질 예정이다. 고대 이집트 중왕국과 신왕국 시대의 수도였던 룩소르는 파라오들의 무덤이 몰려있는 '왕가의 계곡'과 카르나크신전, 룩소르신전 등 많은 유적으로 관광객들이 많이 찾는 지역이다.이집트 정부는 관광산업 활성화를 위해 유물 발굴에 공을 들이고 있다.고대유물부는 지난 10일 룩소르 '왕들의 계곡'에서 장례용 가구, 도자기, 금속, 옷 등을 만드는 작업장 30곳을 발견했다고 발표했다.(연합뉴스)
