10cm 하이힐을 신고 걸어 다니는 여성을 보면 그녀의 허리나 발목이 10년 이내에 어떻게 될지 걱정이 되기도 한다. 하지만 최근의 연구 결과에 따르면 하이힐이 발목 건강 측면에서는 오히려 긍정적 영향을 미칠 수 도 있다.고려대 보건과학대 물리치료학과 윤범철 교수팀은 하이힐을 신고 생활하는 20대 여성 10명과 하이힐을 거의 신지 않는 같은 여성을 나누어 발목 관절의 움직임과 근력을 비교했다. 하이힐의 평균 높이는 8㎝로, 높이가 10㎝ 이상인 킬힐 착용자는 이번 조사대상에 없었다.이 결과 하이힐을 자주 신은 여성은 발목관절의 움직임이 주로 안쪽과 발바닥 쪽으로 변화된 것으로 관찰됐으며, 발목 바깥쪽의 근력이 비교 대상 여성들에 비해 크게 증가한 것으로 평가됐다. 이에 대해 연구팀은 하이힐을 신으면서 무게 중심이 좌우로 많이 흔들렸기 때문 에 발목 관절의 움직임 범위와 근력이 기능적으로 변형됐을 것으로 추정했다. 이는 트레이닝 측면에서 발목 바깥쪽의 근력이 발목 안정성을 높이는데 매
