국내 체류하는 외국인 증가에 따라 외국인 마약사범도 눈에 띄게 늘어나는 것으로 나타났다.경찰청은 올 5∼10월 6개월간 전국적으로 마약류 사범 집중단속을 벌여 4천480명을 검거하고, 이 가운데 1천54명을 구속했다고 17일 밝혔다.경찰은 이 기간 기존 마약수사 전담인력 외에 전국에 마약 담당 형사를 추가 지정하고, 국제범죄·사이버수사 인력 등을 총동원한 단속에 나섰다. (연합)단속 현황을 살펴보면, 마약 종류별로는 필로폰(메스암페타민) 등 향정신성의약품 관련 사범이 66.1%(2천962명)로 가장 많았다. 양귀비 등 마약 관련 사범은 23.8%(1천64명), 대마 사범은 10.1%(454명)였다.향정신성의약품 사범 가운데는 필로폰 관련 검거 인원이 80%(2천370명)로 가장 많아 필로폰이 국내에서 가장 많이 유통되는 추세를 유지했다.경찰은 국내로 밀반입되는 필로폰 상당수가 중국에서 들어오는 것으로 보고 있으나 필리핀, 캄보디아 등 동남아시아 지역에서 반입하는 사례도 계속 발견돼
