삼성, 스마트시계 이름은 “기어,” 그 기능은?
2일 삼성전자에 따르면 그 동안 베일에 가려져 있었던 삼성의 스마트시계의 이름은 “기어(Gear)” 라고 밝혀졌다마치 시계의 톱니 바퀴 부품들을 연상시키는 의미를 가진 “기어”라는 단어를 차용한 것으로 해석된다. 코리아헤럴드 취재 결과, 삼성전자는 한국에서 6월 21일 상표 특허 출원을 했고, 미국에서는 약 일 주일 뒤인 6월 27일에 특허 출원을 한 것으로 밝혀졌다. 한국에서의 특허 출원 번호는 “40-2013-0041142” 이며 미국에서의 특허 출원 번호는 “85971385”이다. 통상적으로 특허 시장에서 특허출원을 하고 상표 등록을 끝마치면 상표명을 바꾸지 않기 때문에 이변이 없는 한 삼성의 스마트시계의 상품 명은 “기어”가 될 가능성이 높다는 것이 특허 계의 설명이다. 특허 등록 기간은 출원 후 약 6~8 개월, 길게는 10개월이 소요 된다. 특허 공고가 나고 한 달의 이의 신청을 거친 후 최종 등록이 되는 것이다. 내년 6월 정도 최종 등록이 될 것이라는 전망이 나오고 있
