Ha Ri-su, considered Korea’s first openly transgender celebrity, is set to mark a comeback to the scene with her first solo effort in six years.
According to her agency Mystery Friends on Wednesday, Ha is set to release the single “RE:SU-Again” on July 12.
“The upcoming album will depict the life of Ha, who has led a rigorous and tough life more than anyone else. Please listen to it without any prejudice,” an agency official said.

The lyrics, co-written by Ha, also send an encouraging message to the younger generation, the agency added.
The 43-year-old singer first gained public attention in 2001 after appearing in a TV cosmetics commercial.
A multitalented entertainer, Ha has released five studio albums to date with hits like “Temptation” and “Liar,” while also branching out as an actress. Her last release was “The Queen,” her 11-year anniversary album which out in July 2012.
The singer married rapper Micky Jung in 2007. The two, however, ended their marriage last year.
