A man in his 20s surnamed Kim has been arrested for taking upskirt pictures of a female high-school student.
Seongnam Jungwon Police Station in Gyeonggi Province said Thursday it had booked the suspect without detention on the charge of infringement of the Act on Special Cases concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes.
He is accused of secretly taking upskirt pictures of the victim with his phone at a library in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, around 8 p.m. Monday.

He is accused of secretly taking upskirt pictures of the victim with his phone at a library in Jungwon-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, around 8 p.m. Monday.
The suspect was caught red-handed when police arrived following a report filed by the student. Around 10,000 pictures of women’s faces and body parts have been found on his phone.
Police said the phone contained 10 pictures of the teenage victim.
A police officer said, “Kim used a smartphone application that rids phones of the camera shutter sound when taking pictures,” adding that Kim had admitted to the charges.
