After winning the popular audition program in 2015, the Korea-American singer was signed by YG Entertainment. However, not getting any indication of a possible debut, Kim left YG Entertainment on May 24. YG head Yang Hyun-suk also recently filled in the fans on Kim’s departure, explaining that Kim’s new agency was established by an YG executive who had been in charge of Kim’s debut album from the very beginning, the reason why Kim decided to move to the new agency.
Heralding her brand new start, Kim on Monday evening released several concept photos under the theme “The Birth of Katie” on her newly created social media sites. Specific dates for her debut and more information about the agency are soon to follow, according to the agency.
