US President Donald Trump on Tuesday (US time) said that his meeting with North Korean leader may not happen as scheduled.
Speaking ahead of his meeting with President Moon Jae-in at the White House, Trump said that the scheduled meeting may not take place.
“It may not Work out for June 12,” Trump said, saying “you will know soon” when asked about his conditions for the meeting.
The US leader also said that while related developments are “moving along” negotiating a deal is open to changes, and that details will be revealed soon.
The meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un is currently scheduled to take place on June 12 in Singapore.
However, North Korea has recently taken on a different tone, threatening to call off the meeting taking issue with talk of the Libya model from US officials.
Trump’s National Security Advisor John Bolton has told the media that the process of ridding North Korea’s nuclear weapons program is likely to resemble that implemented in Libya.
South Korea’s presidential office, however, maintains that Kim remains committed to the meeting, and denuclearization.
