Doosan Industrial Vehicle, a leading South Korean forklift manufacturer, has opened a factory store in Atlanta, Georgia, to expand its presence in the North American market, the company said Thursday.
At its factory store, customers can experience one-stop shopping for Doosan Industrial Vehicle and receive customer services such as counseling, according to the firm. The store will be directly managed by the company’s American branch, which aims to expand its operations from sales to rental, customer service, distribution and management, it said.
Including the factory store in Atlanta, the company will provide forklift rental service, maintenance service and auto parts business at its three stores in Georgia.
Through business expansion abroad, Doosan Industrial Vehicle plans to achieve 300 billion won ($277 million) in sales by 2022 in the North American market. Last year, the company earned 150 billion won in sales from the region.
“With the launch of the factory store in Atlanta, we hope to expand our business portfolio in the North American market so it can work as a momentum to open more in Southeastern regions and west regions in the US, ultimately becoming the company with comprehensive solution provider,” said Dong Hyun-soo, vice chairman of Doosan.
In 2015, Doosan Industrial Vehicle acquired UK forklift rental company Rushlift to expand its scope of business into fleet management and servicing of materials handling and aviation support equipment.
