Four of the group’s members -- Kangin, Sungmin, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun -- were absent from the concerts. Choi Si-won performed at “Super Show 7,” though he had not taken part in promotional activities for the band’s latest album amid a recent controversy involving his family’s pet dog.
“I am truly sorry to worry you. I had to make a difficult decision to perform onstage. I want to thank my bandmates who have trusted me and embraced me with love,” Choi said at the end of the concerts.
“Also I feel grateful to the fans who have embraced me and waited for me until I could stand here,” he added.
The group will now head to Singapore for its “Super Junior World Tour – Super Show 7” concert on Jan. 27, 2018, before performing in Bangkok on Jan. 28 and in Hong Kong on Feb. 10.
