The Export-Import Bank of Korea, or Korea Eximbank, held a three-day camp starting Wednesday for college students providing them an opportunity to share ideas and visions about international development and cooperation.

According to the bank on Wednesday, about 50 local university students took part in the camp dubbed “Economic Development Cooperation Fund Camp,” being held for the 13th year at the bank’s headquarters in Yeouido and employee training center in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. 

The EDCF is an official development assistance program designed in 1987 to promote economic cooperation between Korea and developing countries.

ODA experts from the economic academia and the Ministry of Strategy and Finance will throw lectures on topics ranging from development assistance to international cooperation for the students.

The students will get to establish strategies for inter-country cooperation and engage in a debate on the EDCF program.

“2016 will be a critical year for the international cooperation area as the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the UN are going to be implemented in September,” said Lee Duk-hoon, president of Korea Eximbank. “We hope this camp give our future ODA experts an opportunity to learn about international cooperation and build networks.”
