[THE INVESTOR] The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy has named Seoul National University law professor Shin Hi-taek as the Korea Trade Commission chairman, it announced Aug. 17.
Shin studied law at Seoul National University and Yale with a specialization in international investment. He worked at Kim & Chang law firm and served as the director of Seoul National University Research Institute and a counsel for the International Center for the Settlement of Investment Disputes.
The international trade law expert will head the quasi-judicial body that investigates and determines industrial injuries and unfair trade practices and report to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance.
