Cosmic Girls’ upcoming music video sparks controversy

Rookie K-pop group Cosmic Girls and its management agency Starship Entertainment are under fire after reports that the group trespassed into a natural monument to film an upcoming music video.
Channel A reported on Aug. 6 that an unnamed girl group and its production staff illegally entered the Sinduri Coastal Sand Dune, despite the many warnings from the property manager over a loudspeaker. According to the broadcast report, the group eventually left after police arrived at the scene.

It was soon revealed that the people in question were the 12-member K-pop band Cosmic Girls and its affiliates.
Starship Entertainment issued a formal apology on the girl group’s official fan page on Saturday, announcing that the footage from the protected area will be edited out of the final music video.
Declared a natural monument in 2001, the Sinduri Coastal Sand Dune has been a popular filming location for many entertainment productions, including KBS2’s popular variety show “Two Days, One Night” and the 2011 action film “War of the Arrows.”
