Returning as a seven-member subunit, K-pop girl group I.O.I revealed a teaser image for its upcoming single on the group’s official social media channels on Tuesday morning.

The photo features seven of the 11 members -- Kim Do-yeon, Kim So-hye, Kim Chung-ha, Lim Na-young, Jeon So-mi, Zhou Jieqiong, and Choi Yoo-jung -- against a metallic background sporting platinum blonde wigs in identical all-white attire. This new look is in contrast with the bright and cheerful image the group had for its debut song “Dream Girls” in May.

A project girl group, I.O.I was created on Mnet’s reality K-pop survival show “Produce 101” earlier this year. After its subunit promotions in August, I.O.I will resume full-group activities until the members’ contracts expire, after which the group will disband.

One of the members Yu Yeon-jung has already announced her decision to join another girl group, Cosmic Girls, after fulfilling her commitments with I.O.I.

The currently untitled single will be available on local music sites from midnight on Aug. 9.
