[THE INVESTOR] IT solutions firm Samsung SDS saw its operating profit jump 35.2 percent on-year to 168.4 billion won (US$149.7million) in the second quarter of 2016, the company said in its regulatory filings on July 28. Its sales came in at 2.52 trillion won, up 17.6 percent year-over-year.
The company said its IT services and logistics business process outsourcing(BPO) businesses enjoyed a 17 percent and 35.3 percent increase, respectively thanks to improved demand.
The Seoul-headquartered firm has recently invested in global ventures including Darktrace and Blocko in order to foray into global markets while establishing a joint logistics firm together with Acutech of Thailand.
