Mexico to slap massive anti-dumping tariff on Dongbu Metal

[THE INVESTOR] Dongbu Metal’s high carbon ferromanganese could be subjected to a 35.65 percent anti-dumping tariff in Mexico.
According to the Korea International Trade Association and the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, Mexico’s trade commission preliminarily passed the anti-dumping measure on Dongbu Metal’s high carbon ferromanganese.
Dongbu Metal has been exporting high carbon ferromanganese to Mexico since July 2014. The South Korean company is reported to have supplied 7,700 metric tons of high carbon ferromanganese to Arcelor Mittal’s plant in Mexico since then.
The move by Mexico’s trade commission is thought to have been prompted by growing calls from the Mexican steel industry, which claims that South Korean and Chinese steel companies are pushing out Mexican firms from the market.
