The AI program is considered the second most advanced Go program after AlphaGo, developed by US start-up DeepMind.
Hideki Kato, co-creator of Zen, reportedly said that its capability almost surpassed that of DeepMind’s.
The Japanese Go program won a competition in Japan in March after beating other programs including the one developed by Facebook.
In the first ever match between a human Go player and an AI program, Korean Go grandmaster Lee Se-dol was defeated by AlphaGo 1-4.
