Sohn has been heading Korea’s largest food and entertainment company since 1995 when CJ split from Samsung. After spending some time outside the company in early 2000s, he made a comeback at CJ when his nephew was arrested in 2013.
Lee is currently awaiting the Supreme Court’s ruling on charges of embezzlement, breach of trust and tax evasion while being hospitalized for a number of illnesses including a hereditary disease.
