Mercedes Benz said Sunday it was set to roll out four luxury models later this year, after garnering attention at the Busan Motor Show earlier in the month.
“We plan to unveil the full lineup of dynamic, young roadsters and modern, luxury Cabriolets in the second half of this year, with an aim of meeting high-end consumers’ needs,” said an official at Mercedes Benz Korea.
The new S-Class Cabriolet, the first convertible variant of the Mercedes-Benz luxury flagship, will enter the Korean market alongside the new C-Class Cabriolet, which is more sporty and youthful in character and styling. Other models include Mercedes Benz’s top-of-the-line roadster, the new SL, alongside the open-top two-seater the new SLC.

The new S-Class Cabriolet, the sixth variant of the current S-Class family, is the first open-top luxury four-seater from Mercedes-Benz since 1971. Among a slew of new car releases from the German automaker in the last 12 months, this four-seater open-top model has maximum star appeal.
Offering an exclusive design, the convertible provides a wind protection concept that includes intelligent climate control, the company said. The new model will go on sale in the local auto market in the third quarter of this year.
For the new C-Class Cabriolet’s part, it is a sportier and younger version, which was unveiled at the Busan Motor Show early this month after being showcased at the Geneva Motor Show in March as the world premiere.
The new C-Class Cabriolet, slated for the rollout in the fourth quarter, is an embodiment of the Mercedes-Benz design philosophy -- sensual purity. The convertible sports a fabric soft top that opens and closes in 20 seconds in speeds up to 50 kilometers per hour, the automaker said.
The new SL, Mercedes-Benz’s top-of-the-line roadster, is the top performer in a wide variety of areas. It becomes a fancy roadster for relaxed driving and a dynamic coupe for sporty trips on winding roads, according to the company. Its hard roof top can be opened or closed at speeds of up to 40 kilometers per hour. This model is slated to be launched in the third quarter of this year.
Lastly, the New SLC is Mercedes Benz’s all-new model, sporting the brand’s new face and some fresh engine options. The new Mercedes-AMG SLC 43, which is the most efficient six-cylinder performance roadster in the market, was also newly unveiled. All SLC models feature a diamond radiator grille and LED intelligent light system as standard.
“With powerful proportions and dynamically designed silhouette, this new roadster realizes sensual purity -- Benz’ design philosophy,” said Gorden Wagener, Daimler AG’s design head.
