Hyundai Engineering & Construction is continuing its commitment to global social contribution with a total of 27 social projects in 15 countries.

With its first global social contribution project of building a construction business education center in Kazakhstan in 2011, Hyundai E&C has since completed 14 social contribution projects and is currently making progress in 13 other overseas projects, the company said Thursday.

Hyundai E&C and the Miral Welfare Foundation donated 1,500 solar lanterns to Myanmar children without electricity last month as a part of the company’s commitment toward global social contribution. It is focusing its social contribution projects in countries with well-established Korean economic ties with 18 overall projects in the Middle East and Southeast Asia as well as emerging new markets, with nine projects in South America and Africa.

Moreover, the company along with Hyundai Motors, KOICA and Plan Korea built the recently completed Hyundai KOICA Dream Center to foster construction and automobile specialists in Vietnam as a means to create shared value.

Creating shared value is a business strategy that instills business value to surrounding communities, which will result in improved social conditions and in turn create company profit, Hyundai E&C explained.
