Citibank Korea organized a vertical marathon from May 9-10 as a part of Citi’s Global Fitness Challenge.

Runners climbed staircases at the bank’s Seoul headquarters and Incheon office to donate to charity under a fitness program launched by Citi’s global headquarters in 2012.

It was introduced in Korea this year and the marathon marked the beginning of the campaign.

Under the program, participants -- Citibank employees -- set an exercise goal and record their workouts on Citi’s fitness mobile application.

If participants achieve their fitness goals, they earn points which are then converted to donations by the company.

This year’s Citi Fitness Challenge is scheduled to take place until May 29. The donations will be given to the Community Chest of Korea, Korea’s largest charity institution.
