Retail investors picked up over 50 billion won ($42.7 million) worth of shares, but institutions and foreigners weighed on the market by selling more than they bought.

The local currency was trading at 1,167.2 won against the U.S. dollar, up 5.4 won from the previous session. (Yonhap)
