South Korean golfer Jang Ha-na withdrew from an LPGA Tour event in San Francisco Thursday with symptoms of insomnia and anemia, her Seoul-based agency said.

Jang, a two-time winner this season and world No. 8, pulled out during the first round of the Swinging Skirts LPGA Classic. An official at her agency, Sportizen, said since the JTBC Founders Cup tournament in mid-March, Jang had been suffering from blurred vision, dizziness and vomiting, and had also experienced trouble sleeping.

"She was treated at a U.S. hospital but made no progress," the official added. "We're considering having her visit a Korean hospital. We'll have to monitor her condition before deciding on her next event."

Jang has reportedly been under a great deal of stress since a bizarre off-field incident involving a fellow South Korean LPGA player Chun In-gee in early March. When both golfers were traveling to Singapore for the HSBC Women's Champions, a bag belonging to Jang's father tumbled down an escalator at Changi Airport and hit Chun in the lower back.

Chun was forced to miss a month of action with back problems, while Jang won the tournament in Singapore. Jang was criticized by Chun's fans for her exuberant celebration of the victory, and another bit of controversy brewed over the lack of a proper apology from Jang's camp.

Jang is one of two LPGA golfers with at least two wins in 2016, along with world No. 1 Lydia Ko. (Yonhap)
