On April 14, the mobile application security solution startup EverSpin (CEO: Steven Ha) announced that its technology had received excellent evaluations at major Fintech competitions in Korea and abroad. At an international Fintech contest held in February by Japan’s FIBC (Financial Innovation Business Conference), EverSpin received a Judge’s Special Award. The company also passed the preliminary round of a Fintech competition to be held at the ICT Spring Europe 2016 in May in Luxembourg and won a Grand Prize in the technology category of the Fintech Korea Challenge, hosted by KOSCOM in 2015.

EverSpin’s mobile application security platform “EverSafe,” which is based on the company’s dynamic security technology, prevents mobile hacking by changing the security module at regular time intervals. Security modules are created randomly using self-generated algorithms, and a new binary code is created each time the security module is changed. CEO Steven Ha said, “The product’s key technology is the ‘dynamic’ module analysis technique it uses to block hacking, as opposed to the existing ‘fixed’ module analysis method.”

The security module offers a package with multiple features, including OS fabrication/modulation detection, application fabrication/modulation detection, and keyboard security and anti-virus software. Another advantage of EverSafe is that when improvements are made to the security module or the phone’s OS or applications are updated, the security platform does not require any additional development or modifications. Also, by going with a flat rate pricing system based on the number of users, EverSpin has minimized the costs required for maintenance and upkeep.

EverSpin is a startup that was founded in 2014. It works in collaboration with, and through the investment of, KOSCOM, the company that possesses the largest capital market IT infrastructure in Korea. Also, the Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy & Innovation is providing financial support for the EverSpin’s overseas debut.
