Hanmi Global chief joins 100 best-performing CEOs in Korea

The head of Hanmi Global, a construction management company, joined the list of the 100 best-performing CEOs in Korea released by business magazine Maekyung Economy. He has been named on the list for 11 straight years.
Chairman Kim Jong-hoon, who adopted construction management programs for the first time in Korea in 1996, has gained a reputation for growing the company into a leading construction management firm with a global presence in 48 nations.

Kim is credited with adopting advanced management system in partnership with the U.S.’ leading builder DPR Construction. He also pushed for partnerships with Japan’s second-largest real-estate developer Mitsubishi Estate to jump into the Japanese market as the first Korean construction management firm there.
Hanmi Global has enhanced its capacity by acquiring several companies over the past decade. The company acquired local design company Iarc in 2014 to create a value chain by strengthening its customer service and set up a joint venture with U.K.-based company Turner & Townsend in 2010. It also bought U.S. engineering firm Otak and eco-friendly consulting firm Ecosian in 2011 and 2012, respectively.
Kim said in the company’s statement, “We will continue to create customer value and jump into global markets utilizing the firm’s construction management specialty and networks.”
