In Seoul, large caps traded mixed while market bellwether Samsung Electronics gained 0.16 percent.

Local industry leader Hyundai Motor shed 0.33 percent while its smaller affiliate added 1.05 percent.

Cosmetics giant Amore Pacific shed 0.63 percent, while its rival LG Chem spiked 1.27 percent.

The local currency was trading at 1,166.65 won against the U.S. dollar, down 4.15 won from Friday's close. (Yonhap)
