Kia Motors on Wednesday revealed its Niro hybrid subcompact SUV to the public on Wednesday and began receiving preorders.
Equipped with a 1.6 GDI engine, coupled with a 32 kW motor system and six-speed dual clutch transmission, the Niro can produce up to 141 horsepower and a maximum torque of 27 kg-meters, the company said.

It also stressed that due to the strategic location of the battery below the second-row seats, the Niro has relatively larger luggage room compared with rival models.
For enhanced safety, Kia applied advanced high-strength steel to 53 percent of the chassis and installed seven air bags, including a knee protection air bag for the driver.
Warning and driving support systems as the LDWS, the BSD and the AEB were also installed, the carmaker said.
Prices for the Niro range from 23.17 million won ($19,405) to 27.41 million won depending on trim and options, the company said.
