The Crane tour in Cheorwon

Korea Tourism Organization provides tourists with a special opportunity to explore cranes in Cherwon, Gangwon Province, from Jan.18 to Feb.29. Crane, designated as Natural Monument No. 202, is an endangered species having a worldwide population of only about 2,000-3,000. Cranes fly toward the DMZ in Cheorwon which has not been inhabited by human beings for more than six decades.

The crane tour will be a day-trip departing from Seoul by DMZ train and exploring red-crowned cranes and white-naped cranes in the Cheorwon plains. There is no tour on Tuesdays.

Bukhansan Dulle-gil Trail course 1: path through a pine grove

Korea Tourism Organization selects 10 trails every month based on the data gathered from Korea Trails Guide‘s official website www.koreatrails.or.kr. The most popular trail this month is Bukhansan Dulle-gil Trail Course 1, Seoul. The trail, also called “A Path Through a Pine Grove,’ consists of gentle slopes and provides visitors with fresh air from the pine grove. The 3.1-km trail which takes 80 minutes to complete is categorized as a beginner’s course.

Yong Pyong Resort will greet the Lunar New Year holiday season with BBQ Dinner buffet at Dragon Valley Hotel on Feb.6-8. The buffet will provide visitors with an array of Korean traditional food for the Lunar New Year as well as gourmet LA galbi. Everland ‘Lunar New Year’s Folk Festival’

Everland will hold “Lunar New Year’s Folk Festival” on Feb. 6-10 to celebrate the holiday season. The festival will offer a venue to enjoy folk games including playing with giant yut, jegichagi (Korean shuttlecock game), and tuho. People disguised as protagonists in traditional fairy tales will spice up the festival.

There will also be special events to celebrate the Year of the Monkey. Arm-wrestling event with Korean champion will be held on Feb. 8, and illustrators will draw visitors in monkey figures on Feb. 6-9.

During the holiday season, Everland will open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Feb. 5-9, and from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Feb.10.

‘Korea Grand Sale’ to celebrate ‘2016-2018 Visit Korea Year

“Korea Grand Sale” is now on through Feb. 29, offering a wide array of promotions and discounts for transportation, airlines, hotels, and tourists attractions including K-Travel bus, Hyundai I-park mall, Etude House, Lotte World, and Lotte Duty Free.
