Hanwha Q Cells, the solar business unit of Korea’s Hanwha Group, said Monday that it has signed a 50 megawatt solar photovolataic module supply deal with India’s Adani Group.

The development comes about half a year since Hanwha sealed a similar contract to supply 70 MW of PV modules to Adani in July 2015.

The solar plant, scheduled for completion by March 2016, will be installed in the Tamil Nadu province, according to Hanwha.

“We are pleased to partner with Adani Group again, as its trusted partner in its endeavor deploying more sustainable energy solution in India,” said Kim Maeng-yoon, senior vice president of Hanwha Q Cells in India.

“Hanwha will continue to participate in India’s robust growth of solar industry by bringing high quality products and services to our local partners,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Indian government has its sights set on building a total of 100GW solar plants in the country by 2020 and is expected to continue expanding its solar power business in the years to come.
