Hani of the girl group EXID will co-host "Baek Jong-won's Three Great Emperors," terrestrial network SBS said Thursday.
She will join three existing hosts -- the celebrity chef Baek and comedians Lee Hwi-jae and Kim Joon-hyun -- starting Saturday at 6:10 p.m.
Her inaugural episode will cover "doeji galbi," or Korean pork ribs.
"I'm thankful that I get to taste foods prepared by seasoned chefs every week," she told a news conference at SBS headquarters in Seoul. "I'll try to represent what women and the young generation like to eat."
Producer Ahn Jae-cheol said many people had asked to add a female host to the current male-dominated show.
"Hani has a proven track record of showing great 'meokbang' from 'Law of the Jungle' and has great chemistry with people," he said.
Hani said her eating habits have improved since joining Team Baek Jong-won.
"I used to eat a lot of salty foods. I loved adding fermented shrimp or salt to meals when eating out with EXID members," she said. "But since watching how the pros prepare food, I've been trying to savor the natural taste of foods." (Yonhap)
