LG, which first launched its front-loading washer in the U.S. in 2007, also took the lead in the segment for premium washers priced at $900 and above.
The Korean firm caught the eye of U.S. consumers by introducing a string of top-notch washer features, including direct-drive motor technology, which connects the motor directly to the tub, and Turbowash tech to spray water directly onto laundry.
