Hyundai Motor’s G90 Genesis sedan made its U.S. debut this week, highlighting the auto conglomerate’s aspirations to take a bigger slice of the world’s largest high-end car market.

The G90 was showcased at the North American International Auto Show that opened Monday.

Sold as the EQ900 in South Korea, the G90 is Hyundai’s flagship premium sedan model launched under the Genesis brand in December 2015.

Hyundai Motor officials say U.S. sales are expected to start in the second half of the year.

South Korea’s largest automaker plans to expand the Genesis lineup to six models by 2020 to compete against German carmakers such as Mercedes-Benz and BMW that dominate North America.

The U.S. is one of the world’s largest markets for premium sedans. Market data showed that about 2 million luxury vehicles were sold in 2014, which was higher than the 1.8 million units tallied in China.
