Arirang TV, South Korea's English-language broadcaster, announced Monday it has become available across the U.S. city of Philadelphia via digital terrestrial network.
Arirang TV said the service began at midnight Monday, Eastern Standard Time, or 2 p.m. Monday in South Korea, making it the first South Korean channel to reach America's fourth-largest TV market.
Arirang added the fourth non-American channel to be available in Philadelphia, after NHK World of Japan, France24 of France and RT of Russia.
Arirang said it has been available on digital TV in Los Angeles, New York and Washington since 2009, and following the addition of Philadelphia to the list, it is expected to reach 25 million households across the United States. (Yonhap)
