Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co., South Korea's top power equipment maker, said Monday it has won a 1.1-trillion won ($939 million) deal to build a power plant in India.

Under the deal with NTPC Ltd., India's state-run energy service company, Doosan's India-based arm, Doosan Power Systems India Pvt., will build a new 4,000 megawatt power plant in Andhra Pradesh, eastern India.

Doosan said it will be in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction of the project that will run through 2021.

Doosan also said in October that it has secured a 200 billion won deal to supply a boiler to a power plant in India. Under the deal with NTPC, Doosan Heavy's local unit will supply one 600-megawatt steam generator to the Harduaganj Thermal Power Station in the northern part of India. (Yonhap)
