Here's our weekly update on what films to catch at the theaters this weekend.


Love Guide for Dumpees (Korea)

Romantic comedy. Directed by Ha Ki-ho

Jeong-hun (Yoon Kye-sang) pretends to be cool as he goes to his ex-girlfriend’s wedding, but it doesn’t last long. He ends up getting drunk and taking a girl (Han Ye-ri) home, who turns out to be the ex-girlfriend of the groom. They reach an agreement to console each other’s heartbreak as “friends with benefits,” but they end up developing deeper feelings for one another.


Crimson Peak (U.S.)

Fantasy, horror. Directed by Guillermo del Toro

Writer Edith Cushing (Mia Wasikowska) falls in love with a charismatic gentleman named Sir Thomas Sharpe (Tom Hiddleston), who convinces her to marry him and move from New York to his home in England. When she arrives, Cushing discovers that her new home is filled with secrets and ghosts, but she is kept from escaping by Sharpe and his sister Lucille (Jessica Chastain).


The Sound of a Flower (Korea)

Historical drama. Directed by Lee Jong-pil

In old Korea, women were not allowed to perform pansori -- Korea’s traditional musical theater. But that doesn’t stop Jin Chae-seon (Bae Suzy) from chasing her dreams. With training and guidance from pansori veteran Shin Jae-hyo (Ryu Seung-ryong), Chae-seon beats the odds and becomes the first woman to publicly perform pansori.


You Call It Passion (Korea)

Working life is far from what rookie entertainment reporter Do Ra-hui (Park Bo-young) imagined. Every day is a new battle, with her desk editor Ha Jae-gwan (Jung Jae-young) breathing down her neck. Things start to look up when Ra-hui gets an exclusive one-on-one, but the story ends up being more than she bargained for.
