Samsung Electronics Co.'s new leader for its flagship mobile business said Wednesday he will not seek an all-out reshuffle of the business, but instead seek stability.

The remark came after Koh Dong-jin, who was previously in charge of the mobile research and development, was named to head Samsung's Mobile Communications Business on Tuesday.

"There will be no large-scale changes," Koh told reporters briefly, when asked if the Mobile Communications Business will go through restructuring, possibly to set new strategies to overcome its slump in smartphone sales.

Koh declined to comment on other issues, including the Galaxy S7 or Samsung's strategy to keep its distance from Chinese tech players, which recently ate into its profitability.

On Tuesday, Samsung Group announced a personnel reshuffle for executives, appointing 15 executives to new posts. The number is slightly higher than last year, when 11 executive-level officials were promoted or relocated.

It marked the first reshuffle fully led by Lee Jae-yong, who has been running the group since his father, Kun-hee, was hospitalized in May last year. (Yonhap)
