Seoul shares up 0.91% in late morning trade

South Korean stocks traded 0.91 percent higher late Thursday morning as investors went bargain hunting after the previous session's fall.
  

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index added 18.34 points to 2,027.76 as of 11:20 a.m.
  

Market behemoth Samsung Electronics added 2.16 percent, and SK hynix moved up 5.02 percent. LG Display climbed 0.8 percent.
  

Mobile carriers were mixed, with SK Telecom advancing 0.43 percent to 232,500 won while KT fell 0.34 percent. LG Uplus climbed 0.47 percent.
 

The local currency was changing hands at 1,145.70 as of 11:20 a.m., down 2.3 won against the greenback from Wednesday's close. (Yonhap)
