The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Visit Korea Committee said that they will launch various tourism programs and promotional events as part of the country’s “Visit Korea 2016-2018.”
Under the theme of “Revisiting Korea,” the VKC said that it aims to attract 20 million foreign tourists to the country every year through food, hospitality and cultural programs such as K-Food, K-Stay and K-Culture.
“The year 2016-2018 will be a turning point for Korea to become an economy with advanced tourism infrastructure,” said Park Sam-koo, chairman of Visit Korea Committee at an event to launch Visit Korea 2016-2018 in Seoul.
“We will make efforts to launch campaigns and create quality tourism content with regional administrative offices.”
Park, also the chairman of Kumho Asiana, said that it will seek to promote Korea through the K-Smile program, encouraging local residents and services industries to “smile and provide friendly services” to tourists.
