U.N. votes in record number to condemn N. Korea rights violations

UNITED NATIONS, United States (AFP) -- A U.N. General Assembly committee on Thursday backed by a record number of 112 countries a resolution condemning widespread human rights violations in North Korea.
The resolution was adopted after 19 countries voted against the measure and 50 nations abstained.
