Seoul Shakespeare Company will be performing scenes from the bard’s work, based around the theme of “Love and Despair,” in two programs starting next week.
The first program, lasting a little over an hour, focuses on the relationship between Macbeth and Lady Macbeth, as it changes and unravels as a result of their actions. A comic scene from “The Tempest” will also be included.
The second program will look at the familial relationships between the characters of “Hamlet” and the destruction of the relationship between Othello and Desdemona. Also including two scenes from “Titus Andronicus,” the program runs for two hours, plus an intermission.
The “Macbeth” and “Tempest” performances will run on Nov. 28 at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Nov. 29 at 4 p.m. The scenes from “Hamlet” and “Othello” will be performed at the same times on Dec. 5 and 6. Both will be at the Camarata Music Company Studio in Haebangchon, near Noksapyeong Subway Station.
Tickets are 15,000 won, payable at the door, but reservations can be made via seoulshakespearecompany.org.
