Hyundai Card on Thursday launched a customer-oriented digital service allowing smartphone users to have a spending-limit on purchases and cash advance on their credit cards.

The service, dubbed “Lock & Limit,” will be available through the “Digital Hyundai Card” on customers’ mobile apps. Applicable to both online and off-line payments, it allows customers to renew their payment and cash-borrowing ceilings once a day, according to the company.

“It has reflected our company’s philosophy that the digital service should just be a conventional slogan, but offer concrete, practical conveniences,” said a spokesman.

Formerly, credit card customers had to access the phone automatic response service for usage restrictions, and the controls were limited to overseas online payments, he said.

“Starting with ‘Lock & Limit,’ Hyundai Card will continue to issue a variety of digital-focused services,” he said. “(We) are gearing up to grow as the issuer leading both analogue and digital trends.”

During the first half of the year, Hyundai Card launched an integrated mobile application that offers one-stop service from searches to settlements, the first of its kind in the local market.
