Upscale guest rooms and outdoor pools at Banyan Tree Club and Spa Seoul will transform into art gallery space during the four-day BANYAF Art Fair next week.
The premiere edition of the art fair, organized by the resort company, presents some 400 works of art selected by 20 art galleries and agencies, including Arario Gallery, Park Ryu Sook Gallery, Gallery Kong and Gallery Koo. The works will be on display in the hotel’s exclusive club rooms from Oct. 22-25.

Highlighted works are a photographic sculpture, titled “Bust (Puma),” made by Gwon O-sang, who makes life-size sculptural figures using two-dimensional photo prints, portrait “Vincent van Gogh Boy” by Mayuka Yamamoto, known for her portraits of children, and a drawing of an old temple by Lee Yeo-woon.
The hotel art fair is a friendly and popular affair, offering collectors and customers an idea of where to put purchased works in their home.
Large installation pieces will go on display at the hotel’s popular outdoor swimming pool “Oasis.”
BANYAF seeks to set itself apart from other fairs with a variety of art performances and concerts, to be held at major spots in the hotel. Groups of artists will present unique dance and music performances to carry the festive mood into the night.
The art fair is open exclusively for VIP clients from 3-8 p.m. on Oct. 22. It will open for ticket holders from 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. on Oct. 23-24 and from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. on Oct. 25.
