필리핀서 한국인 교민 부부 또 피살

필리핀 수도 마닐라 외곽 칼라바르손 지역 의 마을에서 한국인 교민 부부가 총에 맞아 숨진 것으로 2일 알려졌다.

사건은 1일 밤이나 2일 새벽 발생한 것으로 추정되며, 50대 남편은 자택에서 괴 한의 총격을 받아 사망하고 40대 부인은 도망치다가 집 밖에서 숨진 것으로 전해졌 다.

필리핀 주재 한국대사관은 담당 영사를 보내 사건 경위 파악에 나섰다.

이번 사건으로 올해 들어 필리핀에서 살해된 한국인은 10명으로 늘어났다.

이에 앞서 8월 19일에는 칼라바르손 인근에 있는 카비테주 실랑 마을의 가정집 에서 한국인 교민 나모(64) 씨와 부인 김모(60) 씨가 괴한의 총격을 받고 숨졌다.

현지 경찰은 당시 집에 침입 흔적이 없는 점으로 미뤄 면식범에 의한 소행인 것 으로 보고 수사를 벌이고 있으나 아직 별다른 단서는 찾지 못한 것으로 알려졌다.

지난달 17일에는 필리핀 중부 관광도시 앙헬레스에 있는 건물 안에서 박모(61) 씨가 괴한의 총격으로 사망했다.

경찰은 당시 범인이 박 씨를 지목해 총을 발사한 점에 주목, 원한이나 이권 관 계에 얽힌 범행일 가능성에 무게를 두고 수사하고 있다.

총기 규제가 허술한 필리핀에서는 총기를 이용한 강력 사건이 끊이지 않고 있으 며 작년에는 10명의 한국인이 필리핀에서 피살됐다.

이번 사건은 외교부가 필리핀에서 발생하는 우리 국민의 범죄 피해와 관련해 현 지에서 안전 점검을 벌인 직후 발생했다.

이명렬 외교부 재외동포영사국장은 지난달 23∼25일 마닐라를 방문해 필리핀 외 교부와 경찰청 등에 우리 국민과 관광객에 대한 안전대책 강화를 요청했다. (연합)

Two S. Koreans shot to death in Philippines

A South Korean couple has been shot to death in the Philippines, diplomatic sources said Friday, fanning concerns over rising crimes targeting South Korean nationals in the Southeast Asian country.

A South Korean man in his 50s was shot to death by an unidentified armed assailant either late Thursday or in the wee hours of Friday in his house in the Calabarzon region, south of Manila, the sources said. His wife in her 40s is known to have been killed outside the home while running away.

The incident raised the number of South Koreans killed in the Philippines to 10 this year.

Violent crimes, such as murder and robbery, aimed at Korean nationals have been on the rise in the Philippines where regulations on gun control are lax.

Ten South Koreans were killed there last year, while 13 Korean nationals were murdered there in 2013, according to South Korea's Foreign Ministry.

In August, a South Korean couple in their 60s was found dead with gun-inflicted wounds at their home south of Manila. Last month, a 61-year-old South Korean national was shot to death in the city of Angeles.

Last month, the Foreign Ministry requested that the foreign ministry and the state policy agency in the Philippines raise their guard in a bid to ensure the safety of South Koreans living there and Korean travelers. (Yonhap)
