Pocket Mobile wins Red Dot design award

Payment system developer Pocket Mobile has won an award at this year’s Red Dot Award for its mobile ordering system Pocket Order.

The Red Dot Award is one of the world’s most influential design product competitions, along with the iF Design Award and the IDEA awards.

The start-up won a prize in the Communication Design segment, which recognizes innovative product designs and concepts in a wide range of fields including game design, online communication and packaging design.

Pocket Mobile said it had put emphasis on developing services that cater to the needs of users.

The firm’s mobile ordering platform allows users to easily make orders at coffee shops and restaurants by simply tapping and swiping on smartphone screens. The ordering system also makes recommendations for must-sees and gourmet restaurants and provides discount coupons that can be used at coffeehouses and dining places.

Pocket Mobile also offers commerce, payment and marketing solutions for business-to-business customers with innovative mobile and Web platforms that have convenient and interactional user interfaces.

“People from all around the world can experience payments with tablets and a barcode reader. That is the simple design and business innovation we offer as a solution to the global payment market,” said Park Jin-hong, chief executive of the company.
