Artday to hold July auction

Artday, a subsidiary of Herald Corp., will hold an online art auction from Wednesday to July 15. The auction presents some 190 works by modern and contemporary artists, including paintings by Korean art masters such as Kim Tschang-yeul, Kim Whanki, Lee Ufan and Yun Hyung-keun. The highlight of the auction is Kim Tschang-yeul’s “Water Drops” painting, depicting clear water drops on a rough canvas surface. The starting price is 25 million won ($22,000).

Works of major foreign artists such as Nara Yoshimoto, Takashi Murakami and Salvador Dali will also be on the block.

Bidding and auction status is available on the mobile application Artday. The auction preview will be held July 8-15 at the Herald Square Gallery in the headquarters of Herald Corp. in Yongsan-gu, Seoul.

Preview: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. from July 8-15, Herald Square Gallery, 10, Huam-ro 4-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul

Auction deadline: The auction will start closing at 4 p.m.

on July 15 with a piece sold every minute.
