K-pop girl group Sistar’s latest track “Shake It” continued to top local music charts Wednesday, two days after its release Monday.

The quartet ― consisting of Hyolyn, Bora, Soyou and Dasom ― dropped the EP “Shake It” at noon Monday. Immediately after the release, the title track grabbed the No.1 spot on all the major music charts, including Melon, Genie and Olleh, beating out fellow girl group AOA, which released its single “Heart Attack” on the same day. “Shake It” also topped the Kugou Music chart in China, showing the group’s overseas popularity.

The retro dance track, with the help of producing duo Double Sidekick, is expected to hit the summer season and continue the group’s legacy as the “summer girl group.” Sistar, which made its debut in 2010, rose to stardom with past hit songs such as “Loving You,” “Give It to Me” and “Touch My Body,” all released in the summer.

The group will launch promotional activities for the latest album and perform live on stage on music programs.
