LG CNS, South Korea’s leading systems integration developer, said Sunday it would beef up its efforts to increase its footing in the U.S. energy market with its capabilities in information technology solutions.

The energy storage system market has emerged as a future-promising energy business segment as more corporations begin to pay attention to how to save on energy bills and run their businesses more efficiently.

As companies need different energy storage systems to meet their needs, the demand for IT solutions designed specifically for individual businesses has also been rising.

“LG CNS has a mid- and long-term vision centered on becoming one of the major energy service players in the American energy market,” said an LG CNS official in a press release.

To that end, the Seoul-based IT solutions firm will deploy the world-class energy solutions held by LG Group’s affiliates, and team up with major U.S. solution providers to create successful business models that serve the needs of customers.

On the domestic front, the company has being participating in a number of projects to build energy storage systems, including the world’s largest with a capacity of 23MWh being built at LG Chem’s plants in Iksan, North Jeolla Province.
