Charity music fund-raiser CLASH will return on June 20 with Korean rapper Jolly V headlining the bill.

The event, run in aid of Angel House, a home for the disabled, will be the first CLASH event featuring all hip-hop acts.

Previous CLASH events have featured a mix of Korean and expat hip-hop and rock, but the organizers decided to refresh the format. However, this does not mean they have abandoned rock.

“After two years of using the same format, we decided it was time to make some changes and spice things up,” said cofounder Emma Kalka. “We’re still rock and hip-hop, they’re just split. More importantly, we’re still raising money for great causes. We just wanted to try something a little different.”

Jolly V has been slowly building a name in Korea, and was featured on Mnet’s hit female rap reality show “Unpretty Rapstar.”

“She’s a great performer and she and her label, SouLime SounD, really have a heart for charity. They also put on their own show to raise awareness and money for ALS twice a year. So, we’re excited to be working with them again,” Kalka said.

Also on the bill will be Korean artists KINGDumbs and project duo KeeBomb x Joe Rhee, along with expat rappers Part Time Cooks and Jack Zilla & CJ Infinite.

CLASH organizers are also running a social media campaign to raise awareness of Angel House and disabled issues in Korea. Angel House has regular volunteering opportunities and the campaign will include information on how to get involved.

CLASH will take place at In2Deep in Hongdae from 9-11 p.m. with a party to follow. There will also be a raffle in aid of Angel House. Tickets are 15,000 won ($13) before 11 p.m. and 10,000 won after. Tables can also be booked. Text or Kakao 010-5457-7969 for reservations.
