Lee is to take on the role of an intelligent bounty hunter with well-honed martial arts skills. According to reports, Lee’s character will also have “a cute and unpredictable charm.”
The female lead will be played by a Chinese actress, whose name has not yet been announced. Chinese model and entertainer Angela Yeung, better known by the stage name Angelababy, is said to be among the favorites to land the role.
The movie, a 35 billion won ($31 million) action-comedy, will be funded with investments from Korea, China and Hong Kong.
Shooting is scheduled to begin in August, and some of the country’s leading production staff are said to have signed up for the project.
The movie will be directed by Korea’s Shin Tae-ra, whose works include the 2009 action comedy “My Girlfriend is an Agent” starring actress Kim Ha-neul and actor Kang Ji-hwan.
